The season of spring is rich with symbolism and if you take a peek at the different religions, all have the same basic theme of rebirth, resurrection, transformation and awakening.

“IMAGINAL CELLS”

In keeping with the Spring season and the theme of bright new beginnings, what came to mind was the magical journey and transformation of the caterpillar. I love that a butterfly’s metamorphosis takes its instructions from what are called its “imaginal cells”… and that is a real, biological term. The old cells of the caterpillar resist the intrusion of these new imaginal cells. Within this resistance the caterpillar goes through a number of alchemical stages (and struggles) before it emerges as a beautiful butterfly. I don’t believe it’s too far-fetched to compare the stages and disruptions that we are going through worldwide to the alchemical stages of a caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly.

We all know the saying, “breakdown to breakthrough” but perhaps we didn’t imagine the breath and depth of this breakdown. We are witnessing challenging times across the globe. But if we liken it to what appears to be the caterpillar’s seeming demise, perhaps we can believe that a new, better future will emerge.

It may be very difficult … if not impossible for some, to imagine that we just may be on the brink of a new world of more love, compassion and understanding. In my world, I am witness to more and more people, groups and organizations who are healing and helping, who are spreading love and kindness.

My friend Teri Angel is on a peace mission, traveling alone across the globe spreading peace and loveDr. Ruth Anderson, founder of Enlightened World Network is bringing free uplifting programs to the worldAnother friend, Sheri Myers, writer, activist and producer of the movie Angel Lady feeds the hungry in New Orleans. And that just names a few.

Here are a few suggestions to symbolically welcome and embrace the new energy of Spring.

If your surroundings are messy, then it’s likely your life might just be a little messy or disorganized as well. On the other hand, if things have to be too perfect, then perhaps you might have control issues. These are just two possibilities, but I have to say honestly, our life is a mirror, continually showing us who we are, and that is a gift!

READY FOR A FRESH START?

In the meantime, if you are ready for a fresh start and a new beginning, grab a pad and pencil and your metaphorical vacuum cleaner and let’s get busy! Here are some questions to help guide through the process of release and renew.  Take a deep breath, relax and take your time answering the following questions. Do so from a place of non-judgment.

YOUR INNER WORLD

  • What in your life is ready for a fresh start?
  • What are you ready to release?
  • What old beliefs are no longer serving you?
  • What decision(s) have you been postponing?
  • Where in your life do you feel stuck?
  • Who do you need to forgive or with whom do you need to resolve any issues?
  • Is there something about yourself you need to forgive?
  • And the biggie: Do you need to let go of the past?

YOUR OUTER WORLD

Do you need to:

  • Clean your living space/office space/car?
  • Return any correspondences?
  • Organize your finances?
  • Repair anything… and this includes taking care of any health issues?
  • Let go of things you no longer need or use?

As you honestly address each issue that is relevant to your life and venture out of your comfort zone, you will be stepping your toe into the “Miracle Zone,” feeling energetically lighter and centered. The bonus you get is that you’ll witness new pathways to your success miraculously open up to you.
